SELF TALK – CHANGE YOUR REALITY
The
practice of talking to yourself is normal and goes by many names. Some call it
self-talk. Others refer to it as inner dialogue, inner monologue or inner
speech. So know that it’s OK to sit back
and process things through an internal conversation.
Taking
the time to self-talk can decrease anxiety, boost self-esteem and increase
productivity.
Self
Talk is a way of Encouraging ourselves, and encouraging one
self in the Lord is the greatest form of processing our circumstances, and insuring
A Positive Change to Your Reality.
In 2 Corinthians 10:5, Paul talks about taking “every thought
captive to make it obedient to Christ.” When we feel overwhelmed, stressed,
worried, anxious, fearful, or in despair, we need to talk back to ourselves.
We need to speak the truth of the gospel to ourselves.
We need
to speak the truth of the gospel to ourselves
The truth of the Gospel of who God is: of who he’s revealed
himself to be. He is Good, He is Holy, He is just (Daniel 4:37). He is All-Powerful, All-Knowing, forever Faithful (Hebrews 10:23). He is Gracious, Merciful, and Kind
The next time you face a trial and find
yourself thinking such thoughts as “I’ll never get through this,” SPEAK THE
TRUTH. GO AHEAD.
IT’S OKAY TO TALK TO YOURSELF. PREACH THE GOSPEL TO YOURSELF.
REMIND YOURSELF OF THE HOPE YOU HAVE BECAUSE OF CHRIST
JESUS.
