The Bible phrase “Friend of God” is found in James 2:23, And the scripture was
fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for
righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Jesus was known as a “Friend of Sinners” (Luke 7:34), and He has promised, “Never will I leave you; Never will I
forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). Jesus is truly the Friend who sticks closer than a
brother, and we are blessed to know Him as our Friend. When the Lord is our
friend, He tells us His plans for us and for all of mankind. Jeremiah 29:11 For
I know the plans I
have for you,” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. He wants
His friends to know these things and reveals them to us through HIS WORD.To be a friend of God you
need to lay down your life for Him. He said, “whoever desires to save his life
will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it”
Jesus chose us as Friends, he died for us as Friends, he caused us to trust him as our Friend, and he will remain our Friend for the endless ages to come
